First LearningNI Expert Award Achievers

LearningNI Expert Award AchieversThe first three successful teachers in NI to achieve the prestigious LearningNI Expert Award were presented with their certificates by Mr Scott Naismith, Principal of Methodist College in Belfast on 23 March 2011.

The three teachers are Mary Towe, St Patrick's Academy, Lisburn; Bridie Davey, Methodist College, Belfast and Nigel Small, Sperrin Integrated College, Magherafelt. Whilst participating for the Award the teachers were mentored by Alastair McCullough, Methodist College and Esther Woodhouse, C2k Curricular and MIS Services.

The Award was developed by C2k to provide teachers with the skills and knowledge to integrate use of the LearningNI platform across subject areas at a whole-school level.

The Scheme has been developed to link with GTCNI Competencies 14, 20, 24, 11 and 6 to reflect on the process of course preparation, creation and implementation, and it takes about one year to complete.
