C2k publishes 2008 evaluation surveyC2k commissioned PricewaterhouseCoopers to carry out the independent survey. The Evaluation Survey aimed to conduct customer satisfaction research amongst all schools in Northern Ireland. The survey was carried out in June 2008. The survey was administered using primarily an e-survey methodology, with the option of completing via hard copy, if required. The survey was e-mailed to all schools in Northern Ireland (240 post primary schools, 867 primary schools and 48 special schools). A total of 104 post primary schools completed the questionnaire, representing a response of 43%. Sixty-one per cent of these respondents completed the survey online. A total of 257 primary schools completed the questionnaire, representing a response of 30%. Thirty eight per cent of these respondents completed the survey online. A total of 19 special needs schools completed the questionnaire, representing a response of 40%. Sixty-three per cent of these respondents completed the survey online. The survey found that general satisfaction levels were high for the majority of the aspects of services provided by C2k, particularly the reliability of C2k services, customer support, user training and communications. Schools wanted improvements in the speed and fleixibility of LAN services , enhanced curriculum software and new hardware. The majority of schools felt that the ICT managed service should continue. In favour of the continuation were 81% of primary schools, 79% of post primary schools and 68% of special schools. The results can be viewed in full below. C2k is working towards renewing the accreditation for 2010. The Becta Internet Service Provider accreditation means that all pupils and teachers in NI's primary and secondary schools can be assured that the internet services provided by C2k meet required guidelines. C2k’s internet service is constantly monitored to ensure that children and teachers in NI are protected against offensive emails and web site content. More..
