C2k project board

The C2k Project is tasked with delivering to schools the infrastructure, connectivity and resources to meet the requirements of the Northern Ireland ET Strategy. The C2k Project Board provides the main link between the main stakeholders within the Education Service and the Project itself. The Project Board members are appointed from among the key stakeholders to provide overall direction to and management of the project. The Board is responsible for:

  • the overall conduct of the project;
  • monitoring progress, timescales and costs;
  • reporting to ETSMG as required;
  • reviewing identified resource requirements at various stages of the Project and
    making recommendations as appropriate;
  • providing the C2k Director with advice and guidance on policy implications, both known and emergent, and directing the procurement strategy to support the stated aims and objectives;
  • recommending the tolerance levels within which the Director will operate; and
  • ensuring that the Project objectives and deliverables are completed to specification.

C2k has been awarded full accreditation by Becta for the quality of its schools’ internet service provision.

The Becta Internet Service Provider accreditation means that all pupils and teachers in NI's primary and secondary schools can be assured that the internet services  provided by C2k meet required guidelines.  C2k’s internet service is constantly monitored to ensure that children and teachers in NI are protected against offensive emails and web site content.
